How do I Install Ekiosk?

Installation is simple utilizing a Ekiosk CD, or download from our website.  Appropriate connections to ODBC (Microsoft Database controls) are automatically connected.  Alterations can be made in order to connect to a number of Billing Systems (in order to automatically import patient demographics) and/or connect to an ODBC compliant Electronic Medical Record Systems.

How is Data stored?

Data is stored in any database of your choice.  This may be DBF, Paradox, SQL, etc. We currently use SQL Server as our preferred database.

How do patients enter Data?

Patients enter data from a Kiosk in an easily accessed office location.  This can be in a waiting room or patient area hallway near to office secretaries who can answer patient questions.  Data is entered via touch-screen, and navigation is built in by answering a few navigation questions at the beginning of data entry.  We also have the ability to utilize emailed questionnaires to circumvent security issues which are inherent with real-time logon into a secure network.

Why Collect Outcomes Data?

EKiosk is designed as a simple to use, inexpensive tool with which to collect Validated Patient Outcomes Data.  The ultimate result of data collection and analysis is to improve patient care on both a local and national level.  This should empower physicians to improve medical care and validate the effectiveness of treatment.  Ultimately this effort should be helpful in maintaining and improving physician control of a medical system overrun by third party payers who primarily value their profits not patients.

How to use Form Designer:

Form Designer allows the advanced user to develop questionnaires or navigation which run in E-Med Outcomes, using simple text entry in an easy to use standardized format.  We encourage only the use of Validated Outcomes Measures to allow for coordinated data collection efforts which are statistically relevant.

How to use E-Outcomes Administration:

Outcomes Administration allows the Physician or Researcher to query their own database of validated Outcomes Measures utilizing multiple parameters.  These include age, sex, race, Insurance carrier, etc.  Data can then be evaluated utilizing simple statistical methods which allow the user to examine data on a local level. Their own patient norms may be easily compared to individual patients, or local norms may be compared to national normative data.
